Mum of 18 year old with Aspergers

How Social Groups change lives for people with High Functioning Autism and Aspergers.

Dear all at Kwest4Learning,

We have an 18yo daughter diagnosed with Aspergers. She has been involved with the social group for several years now and since joining the group all of our lives have been transformed for the better. For the first time in her life our daughter has friends she can relate to and be herself with without any fear of being ridiculed or bullied. For us as parents we witnessed the transformation of a shy, fearful girl blossom into oneĀ  that looks forward to the social group with complete excitement.

But perhaps as parents we are most pleased that our daughter has been able to learn life skills from her mentors Kathleen and Simon and the many guests, topics and activities offered.

We have many turbulent times as I’m sure any family with an “aspy ” can attest to but we have been able to work through these painful periods all thanks to the dedication, patience and knowledge that the team provides. I honestly can’t imagine where we’d be without them!! Becoming part of their “family” was truly the best decision we ever made.

They say it takes a village to raise a child and I believe that to be even more true with a child on the spectrum. But understand that this is a welcoming and understanding village that we will always be proud to be a part of. We thank you and just wanted you to know how very much we appreciate and congratulate your work.

Lynn
